About Wilme (“Vilmie”)

Hi, I’m Wilme (“Vilmie”)

I have been trained as Medical Doctor, Clinical Psychologist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and have more than 35 years’ experience.

Field of expertise: Helping you get unstuck as individual or as a couple, from confusing and unhelpful patterns.

My strengths:

The ability to observe, see, hear and learn from clients about themselves. Then to apply my knowledge, expertise, skills and intuition to facilitate growth. The aim is for you to be able to identify and understand your own behaviour patterns, heal effectively from past traumas, learn new user friendly skills, re-connect with others and move through your obstacles.

I love understanding human behaviour and how to apply our strengths best. I love my job.

This approach works well for:

  • Individuals who are ready to explore, understand, heal and build new, helpful patterns
  • Couples who want to strengthen their bond with each other, by getting to understand the negative patterns they get into
  • People / groups in relationships of any kind

I am registered in NZ as Clinical Psychologist with the NZ Psychology board and am a member of the NZ Psychological Society. I am a qualified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (Trauma therapy) and am registered in South Africa as Medical Practitioner. I have also received training in the following fields: Couple’s therapy, Sexology, Schema therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, CBT, Motivational interviewing, ACT, Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT) for couples.
